Privacy policy

At Folio (Buenos Aires, Argentina), we treat your data with the same care as your notes. This policy explains what data we keep, why, and what you can do about it.

1. What data we keep

• Account data: email, name, chosen language and text size, and the date your trial or plan started.
• Your content: the notes, reminders, tags, checklists, dates and colors you create in the app.
• Technical data: when you sign in, our authentication provider logs data such as IP address and browser, for security.
• Payment data: when you move to Pro, your card details are handled by Lemon Squeezy. We never see or store your card number; we only receive your subscription status.

2. What we use it for

We use your data only to provide the service: storing and syncing your notes, showing reminders, keeping your account secure, managing your subscription and emailing you about your account (for example, to reset your password or tell you about an important change).

We don't sell your data, we don't show ads and we don't use your notes to train artificial intelligence models.

3. Who we share it with

We use these providers, which process data on our behalf:

• Supabase: database and authentication. Your data is stored on servers in São Paulo, Brazil.
• Vercel: hosting for the website and the app.
• Lemon Squeezy: payments and invoicing, when you subscribe to Pro.
• Google Fonts: the home page loads a typeface from Google, which receives your IP address to deliver it.

We only share data with other third parties if the law or a competent authority requires it.

4. Cookies and local storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores your session and a few preferences (language, text size, calendar view) in your browser so you don't have to set them every time.

5. How we protect it

All communication is encrypted (HTTPS). Each account can only read its own data: the database enforces this with per-user security rules. Passwords are stored hashed and nobody, including us, can see them.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. If you ask us to delete it, we delete your account and content within 30 days, except for what the law requires us to keep (such as billing records).

7. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data by writing to soporte@folionotes.lat from your account email. We reply within 10 business days. Depending on where you live (for example, the European Union or Argentina), you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to file a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Argentina, that is the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública, the supervisory authority under Law 25,326.

8. Children

Folio is not meant for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 created an account, write to us and we'll delete it.

9. Changes

If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
